Q: Is Spam Manager Professional free?

A: At this time, yes it is free. We have a few reasons for this: We feel
that it is not right to charge for a beta version. We hope that if people
like our product they would donate some money to support our cause. We
would like to see a general decrease in SPAM around the world. And so on....
If we do decide to charge for this product in the future, anyone that has
used the beta versions will be eligible for a discount.
Q: Am I going to lose any valid emails?

A: If the people sending you emails are sending them from a blacklisted
server, they will not be able to send them to your server. They need to
get their IP address removed from the appropriate blacklist DNS servers
before they will be able to send messages through the SMP software.
Q: I need help removing my server from a blacklist. Can you help?

A: No we cannot. If you wish more information on how to address this
problem, we recommend visiting http://ordb.org/faq/. They have an
excellent site describing a lot of the issues people have with DNSBL
databases.
Q: Do I need a separate machine to run Spam Manager Professional?

A: No, you do not. If you wish to run our program on the same machine as
your mail server, you will need to reconfigure your mail server to accept
incoming SMTP connections on a different port. You then would configure
SMP to forward all queries to localhost at that port number.
Q: Will Spam Manager Professional run as a service?

A: Yes it does now. (as of Version 0.17).
Q: Which DNSBL Servers should I use?

A: We have found that spamcop.net and relays.osirusoft.com seem to prevent
most of the spam messages from getting through. Our program should work
with most DNSBL servers. (You should check to make sure that registration
is not required)
Q: Which return codes do you support?

A: Currently we only block addresses that return a 127.0.0.2 - In future
releases, we hope to provide the ability to customize which codes you wish
to block.
