Installation Guide

Installing and configuring Spam Manager Server Professional is easy. After registering, you will be sent instructions on downloading our software.

Download the zipped file and run the setup.exe from the zip file. The program should guide you through the installation process.

Configuring SMP

The incoming port defaults to port 25. This is the standard SMTP port and should not be changed.

The outgoing information is critical. Without the proper settings here, Spam Manager will not work!

If your mail server is located on another machine, just put the machine's name or IP address in the Mail Server setting and change the outgoing port to port 25. Redirect all incoming mail to the machine running Spam Manager Professional. That should do it.

If your mail server is located on the same machine you are running Spam Manager on, you will need to change your mail server's incoming SMTP port settings (Please refer to your mail server documentation for instructions on changing its incoming port). Set the Mail Server setting to localhost and set the outgoing port to match your mail server's new incoming SMTP port.

DNSBL Servers: We have provided you with a sample of DNSBL servers. You can add more servers or change which ones you wish to use to filter incoming messages.
